Griffin moves to Tennessee

Griffin has moved to Tennessee. He was adopted by a young woman who is a teacher, which I like, and who already has a very similar white, deaf boxer, which I love. She and a friend drove up here today from a town not too far across the Virginia border in Tennessee. The potential boxer sibling, a female, came along, and it was pretty much an instant match.
When Griff fills out the two dogs will be very similar.

The female is also white, also deaf, and also has allergies and food sensitivities that sound very similar to Griff. So the owner/adopter has been there, done that, and that is what Griff needs - someone who understands that this is a condition to be managed and that it may take some time to everything just right. By the time he left here, however, Griff was pooping pretty solid stools that looked pretty much normal. He was definitely on the right path and I sent the food and medications along with him.

The two dogs hit it off immediately. The girl was in a new place and took a little time to check things out, but it wasn't long before the two boxers were boxing. They both needed a like-minded playmate and they found it in each other.

I'm very pleased, and relieved. Although he was a very sweet boy, he was somewhat high maintenance with his deafness and his four times a day feeding and medication schedule. Mostly he needed a place with a playmate, something he's been missing around here since Rex got adopted. I couldn't give him everything that he needed, but I gave him what he needed most until a home could be found, that's what fostering is all about.

Boxers have their own play style and they do it best with
one of their own kind.

The girl's big eye patch is going to be
the most distinguishing feature between
the two dogs once he puts on weight.

I will be sad to not see pics of Griffin, but I am happy for him! Looks like a perfect match and you should feel pretty awesome about making that all happen! :-)
