Laser treatments

She didn't want to leave the van when she
saw where we were.
The wound isn't that red and raw;
the red light is coming from the laser.
Gigi and I went back to the vet this morning for a second cold laser treatment on her elbow.  It is supposed to stimulate blood flow to the area of the wound and speed healing.  I should have started the treatments a couple weeks ago.  We had two this week but will miss next week because I'm going out of town.  Clay could drop her off when he goes in for work, but I hate to make her spend all day at the vet's office for a treatment that only takes a few minutes.  She's healing slowly, and we knew it would be slow because it's a tough place to heal.

She has come to accept the soft cone and it keeps her from reaching the elbow with her mouth, although we've seen she scratch at it a little bit using a back leg.  She has even gotten Zachary to lick it for her, so we have to be careful that they are not left alone together.  She didn't want to get out of the van when we arrived today and she really didn't want to go in back at the vet's office to get her nails trimmed.  The laser treatment itself is quick, easy, and painless; she didn't mind that at all.

In the lobby of the vet's office.
This isn't a great picture with that cone on her head, but still,
look at the lines of her body, so smooth, graceful.

On Saturday I'm taking Trouble to her new home up in Haymarket, not far from where we used to live.  Then I'm going on to an adoption event in Reston with Maya and Hercules.  If highway miles were airline miles, I'd be due a free trip to somewhere.
