A mid-week outing

There was supposed to be a Green Dogs adoption event at The Animal Connection last Saturday. That's the day we had the ridiculous snow that no one wanted or asked for, so the event was canceled, or postponed rather, to today. I took Puck and Tilly. There were other dogs there was well, but Tilly really stole the show. She's big and sweet and really still a pup and she loves everybody and everything. She takes treats really well, does a nice "sit," and she loves the petting. She was great with kids, even those with no boundaries, and when she got tired she even laid down and rolled over for belly rubs. This dog should be adopted soon.

Puck was good too, but being Puck he tried to hump everything alive and he pissed on everything that wasn't. He was sweet though, and also surprisingly good with children. Sharen took him for a walk around IX Park and that was probably the highlight of the event for him. Puck won't take treats of any kind from anyone. That's one of the sad results of his former life, where he was lucky to have food and was certainly never given anything as a treat. He let other people handle his leash today, which was good, but he came over to check in with me periodically.

After a rainy night and rainy morning, Thursday afternoon turned out to be absolutely beautiful. It was nice to get out and the social experience was very good for the dogs.
