Mr. Moo charmed all staff at the vet clinic, including the vet who was performing the surgery. He knew someone who had lost a Dane a while back and contacted them to tell them about Moo. They came to meet Moo before I picked him up at the end of the day and they had already submitted an adoption application on line. It's not a done deal quite yet, but it sure looks like a good prospect.
Meanwhile, Tuck continues to improve. He's wagging his tail again and his appetite is definitely back, but he's not yet bearing weight on the leg, although this morning he's holding it a bit closer to a normal position. Fortunately he seems content with his big bed space fenced off in a corner of the kitchen. He's been very good with letting me apply the warm compresses 2-3 times a day.
Our house is now a post-op ward and I'm playing nurse to two Great Dane patients this weekend.

Has anyone recommended the frozen peas for swollen balls?
