He was clearly more comfortable in her home than in ours, mostly because it wasn't full of large dogs. He stretched out on the carpet, rolled around, made himself at home. I'm sure that it was much more like the home environment he was used to. He met the cat too, but barely paid it any attention, just turned and walked away. Zero evidence of any prey drive.
He's getting more comfortable. We are seeing the tail wag now. He walks nicely on a leash. He can go up and down stairs like he's been doing it his whole life. He's clearly been a house dog and an only dog. He could live with other dogs, and presumably cats, but the 10 other large dogs that we have here is a bit beyond his comfort zone. He will crate but probably doesn't need to; we crate him here for his own sense of security. I don't know the origin of the red spot on his nose, he had it when I picked him up.
I will call the vet tomorrow, get him in for a check up and get him up to date on everything. Then we'll try to find him a home.
