Luna goes to town

Luna needs to get out more. I don't know much about her former life, but when I got her she had been locked in a basement room and used for breeding. If she had any life before that I don't know about it, but it seems that her life experience has been pretty limited.

Socializing in the time of Covid isn't easy. Walking at Pleasant Grove doesn't do a lot because we rarely meet people and certainly don't engage with them. Today I took Luna into Charlottesville and we walked the downtown mall. We didn't make any direct contact with people but we saw lots of them and talked to a few. A couple people told me how pretty she is.

We rode the elevator in the parking garage, which she didn't care for, but she was interested in all the sights on the mall. Everything was clearly new to her but she made her way bravely the full length of the mall and back. It was a good experience for her but I really need her to meet people as well.

The elevator ride was not her favorite part of the trip.

She walked pretty boldly, wanting to explore.

She tried to make a detour into each doorway we passed in the beginning.

We had a rottie mix named Molly years ago. She was a country girl and was supremely confident in the outdoors but was terrified when she encountered man-made stuff. I took her downtown one day and we only made it a short distance on the mall when she spotted a fountain and absolutely refused to take another step forward. We turned around and returned to the wilds of Fluvanna where she felt at home. Luna had probably never been to a town before either, but she handled it much better than Molly.

I didn't get a very good picture of them here, but I love these big planting containers they have on the downtown mall. They were looking very good this year as they always do.

We checked out the pavilion, an outdoor concert spot, but they've canceled the entire summer season of events there.

She is a very pretty girl.

We stopped at the Paramount Theater too.

I stopped to take a phone call and she sat next to me, leaning up against my leg.

Luna has an appointment to be spayed next Tuesday. Then I'm all about finding her a home.

She wasn't any more thrilled with the return trip on the elevator either.

Good morning Brent--
Our best friends have owned English Setters for over 30 years. There is a line of English Setters that produces relatively small Setters (especially the females) and they are pretty sure that Lady is an English Setter or at least an English Setter mix and probably from that line.
