Monday: Big Sister, Little Brother
Tuesday: The Hardy Girls
Tuesday was cold, wet, and rainy. Della had zero interest in going outdoors so I didn't feel at all bad about leaving her at home. I took a hardier group of girls, Maya, Paisley, and Kinley. Maya is an all weather dog. She'll go anywhere with me, any time. I hadn't been taking her out much but she seemed interested in going. Paisley is oblivious to many things, weather included. Kinley, of course, is built for nasty weather. It wasn't raining when we started, but it soon began to sprinkle, becoming a light rain for much of the walk. I hadn't walked three dogs in quite a while, but these three are pretty good on a leash and no one else was out on the trails in the rain to present any problems.
Wednesday, New Kid on the Block
The new shepherd pup is now called Kash. Maya is the perfect dog for teaching leash manners to a newbie and she modeled excellent walking behavior for him today, as always, but I'm not sure he was paying attention. Aside from trying to chewing on the leash and wrapping it around my legs, he wasn't bad. He even tried out his shepherd bark when he saw some people in the field we were passing. When he saw something that caught his interest he would take a few steps forward, then stop and look. It's as if he couldn't walk while also looking. The various parts of a puppy don't always work together, that takes time and practice.

Does your reference to Elvis as little brother mean he’s a permanent member of the pack?
Elvis' status is still to be determined.
