We are calling her Holly. She's very nice, sweet, and seems accustomed to being crated. She jumped right into the crate in my van. What is she? Well, first and foremost she's a dog, and a pregnant girl in need. That's all it takes to get a ticket into Daneland. Fortunately the place was still pretty much cleaned up from that short term mother we had a couple of weeks ago. The heater was still set up in the crate, I just went out and turned it on and it's quite comfortable in there. I washed out the wading pool that will serve as a whelping box and added a warm wool blanket. She has an appointment with a vet tomorrow to check her out and hopefully give us a better idea on viability and number of pups that can be expected.
She arrived early afternoon. I've fed her twice already. She's a very eager eater. I held open the flap on the doggie door and she went out, but later came back in on her own. She's a quick learner. Elvis slipped through the gate when I was going in so she met him face to face, no problems. She has met the rest of our crew through the fence. More news will come as we learn it, but for now, welcome Holly.
