In the clearing stands a boxer

Just picked him up this afternoon. We haven't settled on a name for him yet. It was said that he was very scared at the shelter, and he did poop and barf in the crate in my van on the way home, but I'm not seeing a really fearful dog here. I think Journey is much more scared of people. I replaced the boxer's collar, walked him around a bit, and can touch and pet him already. He's fine in a crate in my office for now. He didn't eat dinner, but that's not surprising on the first day.
Meeting Arby

He's fully vaccinated and already neutered, about three years old. Apparently he was given up because of "fighting" between him and his brother, an actual sibling from the same litter. They worked with a trainer who used a shock collar on him, and it had no positive effect but may have left him scared of everything. I don't see any scars, cuts, missing fur, or anything that would make it obvious that he's been fighting. Besides, boxers are generally lovers, not fighters.

It's hard to say at this point. We'll give him some time to settle in and show us the dog that he is and then take it from there. But he met most of our crew already and had no problem.

Name: pending.  He sure takes a nice picture.

Meeting Daisy, who really wants to play with him.
I'm hoping he will do so tomorrow.

Sitting with Clay

He's confused, certainly, but this doesn't look
like a fearful dog so far.

This one's actually a funny look.

Thank you! He needs a calm place and safety and you will give him that.

He's absolutely gorgeous! Who sang that song about the boxer? Paul Simon? Maybe name him after the singer that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw the title.
