Lexie and pups

Lexie and her pups are all doing well. She didn't seem to feel good Saturday so she spent most of the day up in my office away from the stress of motherhood. She was better by evening but we started bringing her in the house at night and plan on doing that from now on. Lexie is actually discouraging the puppies from nursing now, making only brief forays into the puppy zone for clean up duty. I really appreciate her doing that because it makes our job easier, but I think that will need to fall off now too.

She definitely seems to enjoy being indoors and she's been fine in the crate at night. The puppies are always happy to see her, but they are doing fine with less of her time and attention. I fed them three times today and they cleaned up every bit of it each time. I will need to either increase the amount of food or add a fourth feeding to the schedule. 

This is another enrichment toy, it's sort of a puzzle with food as the reward.

Their tongues aren't quite long enough to get the food easily so they have to work for it.

They do seem to enjoy it though.

The fabric basket turned upside down is still the favorite of our thrift store finds last weekend.

Lexie enjoys being around some adult dogs, and people.

Monday afternoon in the office, just hanging around in an open crate with the other girls.

Monday evening we got everyone out of the puppy space so I could give it a good cleaning.

Clay was busy keeping the puppies in the basket while I cleaned.
