We took her to Decipher Brewing for her big night out and it was a busy night. There was a big crowd, lots of people and several other dogs. She barked a couple of times when we were still outside because she had no idea where we were or what we were doing. Once inside, however, she saw that it was full of people, and lots of dog loving people. She had a good time and gave my arms and shoulders a good workout pulling me around. We were near the entrance so she spent a lot of time watching the door, greeting everyone who came in or tried to leave without saying goodbye.
She met a couple of the other dogs, including one who looked quite a bit like her. They asked what kind of dog Holly was, thinking that theirs must have some of the same genetic make up, but I didn't have any answers for them. Hopefully the DNA test we did on one of the pups will tell us about Holly's mix, but we don't have the results yet. Whatever she is, she was a good dog this evening, very friendly and happy. Of course, when we got home she immediately wanted to go see her pups. I gave her a little time with them outdoors while I cleaned up and changed the puppy pads in the shed.
Every dog is different and we learn something new with each one. We've never had a mother who was still this interested in her puppies at 10 weeks of age. She loves to go hunting in the pasture, but that's about the only thing that will tempt her away from them. The puppies are weaned, but weaning her from them is taking longer. This evening was a good distraction and I think she enjoyed it.

She's such a sweet girl. I hope she settles into her new home without missing you and her pups too much.
