SweetTart in public

I took SweetTart to an event at Natural Pet Essentials Saturday afternoon. The weather was lousy so there wasn't a huge crowd, but she got to meet a lot of people for the first time. I really had no idea how she would react but I was very pleased with how she handled it all. She wasn't jumpy at all, certainly not reactive to people or other dogs. She greeted everyone appropriately, looking to me for reassurance when strangers reached out to her. She began to enjoy the attention, however, and even sought it out herself, again in a very respectful, appropriate manner.

She greeted small children as well as adults. She was great with other dogs, large and small, and didn't even seem to notice that rabbits that were there. She helped herself to a treat from a nose-level display, first knocking over the container and then hiding one of them underneath herself after I picked up the others. I let her have it after removing the tag so I could pay for it.

It was a very good first time in public experience. This girl is very well-mannered.

How cute is this golden retriever puppy in backpack? It made me think I should be one for Bailey, but I expect Bailey would prefer to walk.
