I took Gina and Star to their first adoption event today. It was a good introduction to the human world. Not too many people and all of them dog-friendly. Still, they probably hated it. They finally found a spot in back, in the shade of some bushes, where they could lay on bare earth rather than concrete or asphalt. They were happiest when they were together. Once settled there they were relatively content and permitted people to come up and pet them.
Afterwards we went to Decipher Brewery for a couple of beers. It was right around the corner! It was cooler inside and the beer was cold so I was certainly happier. Gina took up a spot under a table and only came out when other dogs walked by. Star actually positioned herself where everyone would pass her and many stopped to pet her. She didn't hate it.
