Jericho

It's time for Jericho to get adopted. Not that he's a problem around here, quite the opposite, but he's too good a dog to languish around here in a house of many when he is clearly born for the starring role in a home of his own.

Jericho is about three years old. He's been neutered and is fully vaccinated, and on heartworm preventative. He's house trained and crate trained and he lives in a house with a varying number of other dogs, currently nine. Jericho is a smallish shepherd, about 65 pounds, although he's still underweight. Most of what you see is hair. He's a typical shepherd, very owner-oriented, always next to me when we're in the house, always within sight outside. The worst thing I can say about him is that given the opportunity his long coat will often be dripping wet because this boy loves the water.

We are just back in from a two mile walk this evening. Was he perfect? No, he pulls a bit but was easily handled on an Easy-Walk harness. He's got some prey drive and he definitely alerted when we spotted a rabbit, but still he wasn't out of control. That prey drive probably means he's not a good choice for a home with cats or other small creatures, but believe me, Jericho is more than enough of a companion animal all on his own, as any shepherd would be.

If I was still with Virginia German Shepherd Rescue and showed up with this dog at an adoption event, people would be fighting over him, and rightly so. Please help me find him a home. Jericho could be a great dog in a lot of different homes. All he really needs is someone who will be as devoted to him as he will be to them.
