This evening, however, they assisted with the socialization of Paisley. Paisley met their dogs and was mostly all right, although she did raise a lip and emit a low growl on a couple of occasions. She explored outside a little bit, on a long line, and didn't go too far, mostly because she wasn't feeling totally secure in the new yard. We went inside and she came along and behaved quite well. She came up to Jan and Paul, and even Clay, and she really liked playing with Duvel and Chester's toys.
I had been prepared to leave her in a crate in the van if necessary, but she really did rather well. We will need to start doing more and more of this, and she still has a long way to go. I don't think she's ready for a busy brewery visit, but I was encouraged by this evening's experience.
She was anxious, but I think she enjoyed herself.
If you stand behind Duvel, you're going to take a tail in the face.
Duvel was one of Della's puppies. He's three years old now.
Chester was a good sport sharing his home with her even after she growled at him.
She liked their squeaky toys.
Duvel is very laid back.
It was the first time I've taken Paisley anywhere
and it was a good first experience.
