Dual dog walk

It was back in the first or second week of January that I first fell and hurt my shoulder, a condition that I made worse with a second fall mid-January. I haven't been walking more than one dog at a time since then and mostly it's been Bailey on the gentle leader because that's easiest on me. The shoulder still hurts and I have limited range of motion and no strength in it yet, but it does seem to be healing at last. It's ridiculous how long things take to heal when you get older.

I'm beginning to purposefully move it more and try to regain some strength in it now and today I once again walked two dogs together - Bailey and Woody, both on gentle leaders. Woody was good. We saw a couple of other dogs, not close up but he didn't react beyond watching them. I still need to take him on a city walk or over to Erika's to meet other dogs to see how he reacts, but so far, so good. I think the gentle leader is the key to keeping his reactivity under control. Of course he had Bailey modeling good walking behavior, that always helps. I remember how many dogs Maya taught to behave appropriately on our walks.

We just did two miles but it was good for all of us. The sun actually peeked out for a little while, probably the last we will see of it for next several days.
