Calling all shepherd people

I had planned this as an email to send to folks I knew through VGSR and other German Shepherd lovers generally. However, I realized I don't have a lot of direct email contact with many of those folks, so I'm doing it here as well and ask that you share it with any shepherd lovers that you may know and especially any rescue volunteers who know people who might be looking for a dog.

Hello GSD friends and GSD fans: I'm fostering a young, 1+ year old male German Shepherd Dog named Woody through a local rescue group that I work with, Green Dogs Unleashed, www.greendogsunleashed.org. He's a good dog and a very nice boy, but he's driving me crazy so I'm contacting everyone I can think of in hopes of finding him a good home.

There's nothing wrong with him except that he's a year old and I'm much older. He's house trained and crate trained, he's been through an obedience class, he's good with other dogs, and he walks well on leash if you use a Gentle Leader or Halti. He loves to play fetch, with either a ball or a stick, and will do it non-stop. My only problem with him is that he's very needy, wants to be with me constantly, and wants to be playing constantly. That's all very normal for a young shepherd. He needs an active home where will be much closer to being the center of attention than he is around here.

If anyone knows of anyone looking for a young male GSD, this guy certainly is one. I would say that it should probably be an experienced home that knows what they are taking on. Again, there's nothing wrong with the dog except that he's a one year old male shepherd. He's neutered, fully vaccinated, and on heartworm preventative, of course.

Pictures below, feel free to share this, and at the website linked above they will find an adoption application. I'm happy to answer any questions.
