Graduation day

Today was Bailey's graduation day from her Canine 101 class. Doesn't seem like it's been six weeks, but time is flying fast right now. She is a very smart dog, already knew much of the material and she was a very motivated student when I was passing out hotdog slices as treats. She did very well and she really seemed to enjoy the activity and the attention as well as the treats. Our next class is the Out and About class with Green Dogs, on Thursday evenings. The class goes places with our dogs. It sounds like just the sort of experience she needs to prepare for our move to France. I plan to keep her in some sort of class or organized activity as much as possible to prepare her for the move.

This handsome boy is Barley, formerly Thor, the first of Marvel's pups to be adopted.

Friday we did a four mile hike at Pleasant Grove. That's our favorite activity but it's not really what she needs as much as socialization in an urban environment. We saw deer and lots of squirrels so it was a good walk.

It was partly cloudy on Friday, but the sun came out later and it was a very pretty afternoon.

After class on Saturday I came home and spent most of the day outdoors doing spring clean up and taking photographs of stuff to sell or give away. This will be the first year I haven't done any spring gardening. That's a little sad but I look forward to finding homes for much of my garden stuff with friends and family, or anyone who will enjoy it. That will feel good. All the dogs had a lot of outdoor time. Ted will be going to an adoption event on Sunday. We're still looking for a home for Woody.

I played a lot of ball with Woody while working outside today.
He loved it.
