Nobody Likes a Wet Dog

That's Maya at the gate, voicing her objection
about something, maybe about many things.
Maya never has an unexpressed thought.
Oddly, our husky, TJ, never says a word.
Maya multitasks when she plays. She's chewing on a rope toy
and wrestling with Coco at the same time. That's Sparky on the
bed in the upper right, minding his own business.
We had actually strung together enough days without rain that even the mud holes were dry to the point of being soft, but not mushy. Then hurricane Michael came through. We have flood warnings again and standing water everyplace. At least this one is moving through faster than the last one and the forecast is promising us fall weather starting on Friday.

Today, however, it's raining, no one wants to go out but everyone is bored and restless indoors and everyone needs to go out. No one got dinner Thursday evening (except me) because I didn't want to add anything to the collective digestive tract that might need to come out this evening or overnight.
At this point I'm less concerned about them being wet than I am about them needing to go outside.

I can always start mopping tomorrow.

Toquima's coat is such that he can go outside and get
wet, come in and give a good shake and be 90% dry.
But he's old enough and smart enough to stay indoors
as much as possible on days like this.
Serena is warming up to us. She likes petting
and even gave my hand a small kiss.

Trooper did not care for the thunder that came
along with the rain this afternoon.

Storms don't bother TJ, nothing does.

Sparky and Serena compete for this crate
in my office. It's her crate at night but it
had been Sparky's office bed during the day.
If he's in there, she will walk in, step over
him and sit down behind him, effectively
pushing him out onto another dog bed.

Sparky is a little put out by it, but he's being
very good.
