Weekend Events

On Saturday morning I took Cooper to a Green Dogs event in Fluvanna County. I didn't really view as an adoption event, and it wasn't, but it was a good opportunity to see Cooper interact with people and other dogs. If it was a test, he aced it. He was handsome, sweet, and charming. He was good with all sorts of strange people, kids, and other dogs. He worked the crowd, going from person to person giving everyone a chance to pet him. We could not have asked for anything more from him.

Sunday morning was bright, cool, and crisp. I did a walk with Maya, Coco, and Max, and then Clay and I set out on a brewery tour with Serena.

We headed east and hit Lickinghole Creek Brewery first. It's the only one that was truly dog friendly. I had a nice saison and we found a nice spot in the sun and out of the wind. Several people met Serena.

Next stop was the new Hardywood Craft brewery location on the west side of Richmond. Dogs were only welcome on the patio in spite of the fact that they allowed children inside. There were a couple of nice labs there and other dogs and a number of nice dog-friendly people.

Our third and final brewery stop was Midnight Brewery. They also thought their plain, concrete taproom was too fancy to allow dogs, but there was enough sun on the patio to make it an enjoyable stop for one beer.

I'm not sure where Great Danes learn this, but
they put their paw on you and magically get
whatever they want.

dog-friendly venue we visited today.
