Horse has left the building

Patton, a/k/a Horse, was adopted today to a couple of folks that I met up in Gainesville last weekend.  They drove down from Manassas and we met at Greendogs Unleashed to do the adoption paperwork and the handoff.

Will I miss him?  Of course.  He's too much dog not to miss.  He's a big, sweet, 113 pound goof.  Maya will probably miss him the most, he was her best play partner, but everyone will feel his absence.  He's a lot of dog.

It's a great home and they are happy and excited to have him.  Every dog deserves that and he needed a home where he will get more personal human contact than he did here.  He's had some fun here and he's matured since he first arrived.  I think he's a better dog now even if we didn't keep up his training.  The timing of the adoption is great too, because we are leaving town and he's one less dog our house sitters will need to leash walk to and from the dog yard.

Horse rode off, not into the sunset, but into the dawn of his new life.  We should be very happy.
