Rugger Roo

Ok, Rugger is shaping up to be a really good dog. He's good with all the other dogs around here. He's dependable off leash around the yard, he comes when he's called, he rarely wants to be out of sight. He's good in a crate at night, but I have a feeling he'd be fine without being crated too.

He has never even lifted a leg in the house.

The medication seems to have the itching under control and the smell is either better or I've just gotten used to it. You can see in the pictures that his ears are still a little wonky, yet sometimes they stand upright and symmetrical and look like he's got control of them.

Best of all, he seems very happy. He seems like he's getting happier each day, realizing that this is his new life, with food, dog friends to play with, people who care for him, outdoor time, and best of all, walks in the woods.

This is the look I'd get every time I
stopped. He'd turn around, look at me,
with that WTF? look on his face.

A meeting of the noses.

This is a tight formation, but the rule of
the day as generally no formation.

We hiked five miles today, so the water crossings were
welcome breaks, especially for Rugger.

I walked him with the leather harness shared by
Sparky and Trooper. It fit him well.

Look at that ear control.

Maya and Axel were the other dogs along today.
Mostly Axel and Rugger stayed out front and did
a lot of bouncing around and stopping to sniff and mark.
Maya just hung back with me most of the time.

These three pics show the dogs going
over a log. Axel first.
And finally Maya

Then Rugger
