Marvel's day out

Yesterday I gave Marvel a good brushing. She loved it and I removed a ton of dead hair from her. It made her feel better, I know, because she was so cooperative about me doing it. I figured that if she enjoyed the brushing that much, a bath would make her feel even better. Clay and I took her up to Natural Pet Essentials Saturday afternoon for a bath. Their self-wash facilities are the best and Marvel was just as cooperative with the bath as she had been for the brushing.

We washed away a lot of dirt and grime as well as a lot more fur. She even tolerated the blow dryer. This was clearly not her first rodeo at the dog wash. I'll give her another brushing tomorrow and will remove more fur, she's a shepherd after all, it never stops, but her coat already has a nice clean shine to it and she sure smells much better.

After it was over, we went to Decipher for a beer, where we ran into two former foster shepherds. The folks who adopted Rocco several years ago just recently adopted Woody. He's now called Rudy. Both dogs looked great and they are learning to live together pretty well it seems.

Marvel is pretty reactive to other dogs, she barks at them but it's not really aggressive. She's a female shepherd and wants everyone to know that she's there. She's extremely outgoing, friendly, and affectionate with people. Marvel will be spayed next Wednesday so it was nice to get her cleaned up in advance of that. I hope we can find her a new home soon after that. She's ready.

She probably feels so much better now.
