Pre-Thanksgiving Christmas dog events

Saturday was Green Dogs' big fundraiser event, Santa Paws, held at Castle Hill Cidery. I took Marvel. It was really her first public outing. I knew she would bark at other dogs, and she did. I also knew that she would love all the people, and she did that too. We hung around outside for a while where we could more easily keep our distance from other dogs until she got used to the idea of them being there. Once we ventured inside, she was really pretty good. She even did some nose-to-nose and nose-to-butt contact and sniffing with other dogs and she was fine. She just feels the need to bark at every new dog at first.

We met someone who had expressed an interest in meeting her and then Marvel really did her part with lots of kisses, leans, and body contact. I'm taking her to their home for a second meeting next Wednesday.

We also ran into former foster Maze (one of Della's pups). She will be coming to stay with us again early in December. And we saw Galen!, one of the shar-pei pups. He's now named Donato. His legs are at least twice as long as they used to be. The head is still the same size because it was always huge. His face is still very squishable.

I love that face.

Marvel playing with Bear once we got back home.

Saturday evening we went to Decipher Brewing in Charlottesville for another Christmas-themed fundraiser, this one for the HOWS Project. We took Elvis.

It was sort of nice getting Christmas out of the way early this year.
