Grace and civility

My friend Meg came out on Sunday to help me purge a lot of dog stuff from my stockpile to deliver to another organization. That was great but what was really wonderful was time she spent working with the puppies, Storm and Elektra, teaching them some social graces and a bit of civility. She had them both calmed down and sitting, and she even clipped at least some of their nails! The pups were eager learners and really enjoyed the attention.

Monday was a work day of course, but I took Bailey out for a hike later in the afternoon. My right shoulder still hurts but I think it's getting better. Still, I just walked one dog, on the Gentle Leader, and only used my left hand for handing the leash. It was sunny and the temperature actually reached into the low 50s today, the warmest I can remember in quite a while. I actually went through the same area where I had fallen last week and there was still snow, ice, and slippery mud, but it was a bit slushy and softer ice, and I exercised even more caution. I've never been the most graceful person myself, but I did manage the entire three miles without falling today.

Elektra and Storm

I think this is where I had fallen before. There was now some melted area along the edge at least, which made it much safer.

3.04 miles
