Dog walks
I've been hitting the trails with either Max or Sparky most days. Sparky is my personal trainer and preferred hiking companion, but Max really needs it, so I try to alternate days with them. I used to walk Molly and Emmylou together, but I think Max and Sparky together would be a bit much. I might try Max and Ochie together, or Max and Maya.
I have set a personal weight loss goal to reach by christmas. I'm not sure it's a reasonable goal, but it keeps me motivated to walk. Plus, I really enjoy it, it feels good, and the dogs love it. Max spotted a couple of deer yesterday and now he thinks he's the deer hunter, really keyed into any movement in the woods. It's just nice to see him act like a dog instead of a maniac.
This is a blog about my life, which largely revolves around a dog rescue operation. I write mostly, but not exclusively, about dogs. I am gay, with a very understanding partner (now husband!); Democrat; liberal; Kansas native and a current resident of "real" Virginia. My husband and I live on 7 rural acres near Charlottesville, Virginia. We have multiple large dogs of our own, and we have fostered large breed dogs for several different rescue organizations. German Shepherd Dogs, Great Danes, and Rottweilers are among our favorites, but we love most large breed dogs and mutts. ALL VIEWS EXPRESSED HEREIN ARE MY OWN.
