Family photo fails

I have ruined more than my share of family photos. Christmas, Thanksgiving, birthdays, and anniversaries, I have ruined family pictures from all occasions with goofy looks, and a remarkable inability to look at a camera without feeling self conscious and looking stupid. So I don't fault any of the individual puppies who managed to mess up these pictures in one way or another. There's really no such thing as a bad picture of a puppy, they are cute regardless of what they do.

I've taken and shared lots of pictures of puppy piles where some may be awake and others sleeping, but here are some attempted pictures of a family photo with everyone awake, alert, and looking at the camera (for the most part).

This is really pretty cute, but you can barely see Sojo in it, just the top of her
head peaking up between and behind Rosa and Malala.

This wouldn't have been too bad, but Susan is goofing around in front, Sojo just looks
like a void or a black spot next to Elliot, and check out the three merle girls. The middle pup's
eyes are completely covered by ears of the sisters on either side of her.

This one had promise, it was really pretty good, but it was the photographer's failure
that allowed the fence to obscure Harriet's face. Otherwise it would have been a great shot.

Again, mostly good, but Malala is hiding under Elliot and one of merle girls,
only her nose is sticking out enough to be in the picture.

This time it's Elliot who is hidden, behind Dolly.

This is nice, of the pups that showed up for it.
The others are off playing in the far corner and missed the photoshoot.

Susan, showing off her balance and leg coordination skills.

Not bad, but Harriet isn't paying attention.
Really cute shot of Elliot and Sojo though.

Not too bad, but Dolly picked the wrong moment to clean Harriet's ear,
and the one merle pup in the far back isn't as tall as she thinks she is.

This was Sojo's turn to mess up the picture, but not sitting for it.

Not bad, but we're missing Dolly and Susan.

A nice tight grouping, but instead of sitting for the photo Sojo is diving
into the center to get a premium spot in the puppy pile.
Malala seems to be missing too.

This is the photoshoot dissolving as the puppy pile begins to form.

Here's the puppy pile on a warmer evening, everyone is spread out more,
but still making contact with two or more other pups.

And here's some fairly decent shots:

This one gets an honorable mention because it's a good picture,
even if it's only five of them.

Again, pretty decent of five, but super cute of Sojo giving Elliot a kiss.

This one is really pretty good.

Not the best arrangement maybe, but everyone is present and visible.

They are a cute bunch.

Wow! Dolly's central position in many shots highlights her heft. What a strong solid gorgeous girl she is!
