Two more down, two more to go

Amelia and Sojourner Truth (Sojo) went to their new homes today. It was a nice, sunny day and the pups had plenty of outdoor time. They've been doing very good about sleeping in their crate at night (it's the spot nearest the heater), and also about using the outdoor pooping corner to do at least 75% of their solid waste elimination.

I will no longer need to distinguish among the merle girls because only Eleanor is left here of the three. She will be going home next Sunday. I think Malala will be going to another foster home then, so she's not the only puppy all alone in Daneland. I kind of hate that, but it will be better for the pup than staying here alone.

Sojo and I have been through a lot together. I was seriously concerned about her for quite a while, given her inability to compete for Allison's milk, the difficulty I had bottle feeding her, and then the difficulty we had in transitioning her to solid food. But she's been eating at the feeding trough with the others for the past few days and she's quite capable of asserting herself to get her share of the food. I think she's gaining steadily now and I sent her home weighing 16.9 pounds today.

Sojo and Amelia earlier today.

Go forth and conquer,

for the world is small and you are the giant,

and every step you take will make the ground shake

as it rises to meet you.

And they say that some people look like their dogs! Have a good life, little puppers.

Maybe you should adopt Sojo. She loves you!
