Last dance

Allison got spayed today, a big step towards her forever home, wherever that might be. They couldn't fix her eye and recommended seeing a specialist in Richmond, which we will arrange.

It was a bright sunny day, which I always enjoy, but it definitely felt like late November out there today.

Today was the final day that all ten puppies will be together. They start going to their new homes on Wednesday, but because of the holiday and some folks having travel plans, I won't be entirely without puppies until after the first week of December.

I had been giving all the pups an enzyme and probiotic supplement. I started that the same time we switched their food and the result was much better poop. I was running low on the supplement so I stopped it yesterday for all the pups except Sojo. The stoppage had an immediate and deleterious effect on the poop. I restarted it today and a new supply came in. The improvement was also readily apparent. That's both good and bad. The bad news is that the puppies seem to require an enzyme supplement to aid in their digestion. The good news is that it's a really easy fix, especially compared to trying many different types of food to find one that works. Consequently, I spent some time this evening filling small zip lock bags with a precious and magic white powder that we will send home with the adopters.

This was a fun, family activity on their next-to-last night together. I tossed in a cardboard box.
The all surrounded it and proceeded to tear it apart.

I will miss being swarmed by puppies and having them trail along after me as a pack.

I'm still not sure I'll let Elliot go.

Rosa seems to have an uncanny ability to find the best leaves.

At first it was just Susan chasing her. Now she has attracted a crowd.

Learning Dane play is fun to watch. It's like a miniature version of Della and Serena play.

Elliot is working on his aerial moves.

I will also miss these impromptu clusters that form at random times and places.

I will miss picking up Ruth when she comes to me and sits like this.

And I will certainly miss the puppy piles.

This might be the best family photo yet. Everyone is visible and looking at me.

This might be the tallest puppy pile they have formed. It was after a cold morning outing.
Sojo is under that pile somewhere. I'm sure she was warm.

Good luck, little puppies, in your new lives. I'm sure you will be very much loved.
