Zeus finds his home

Zeus (left) and Einstein (right)
It seems that the colder it is, the more rigorous the play, at least for those who are outdoors.  This morning the dog yard was full of Zeus, Trooper, Lana, Augie, Barack, and Hercules and they played hard after a big breakfast.  I was expecting visitors, so Trooper came indoors.  When they arrived I separated the play pack leaving just Zeus in the dog yard to meet his prospective new brother, Einstein.

Getting acquainted
Einstein was a bit unsure at first, but that's not unusual given that he was meeting Zeus on unfamiliar territory and he wanted to spend some time checking out all the smells.  It didn't take long, however, and Zeus certainly did his part, offering to play but not pushing himself on the visiting Einstein.

As I had done when Zeus met our dogs and our fosters, I just put them together with little or no introduction.  That's the wrong thing to do in most cases, but that's how confident I was with Zeus.

Zeus, leading the play
Nice looking dogs, eh?

I really had little doubt that Zeus would be going home with them, and he did.  He is such a trusting dog, he hopped in the car without a glance back, ready to head off for a new adventure with his new friend.

Zeus had been well raised and well socialized; I don't think anyone had ever said an unkind word to this dog and he had no reason to distrust people.  Naive, perhaps, but it sure makes for a happy rottie.

Zeus was adopted by a friend of the folks
 who adopted Krypto, formerly Woody.
They sent me this pic of Zeus meeting Krypto
after they got back home.

Finding the sweet spot

Rottweilers at rest

Maya came today, late afternoon.  More on her tomorrow.

Good for Zeus-he has a new brother. Looks like he is off to have a lot of fun and has made room for the next rescue :-)

So happy for Zeus, Einstein, and their people. Looks like Zeus has a personal trainer now to help him slim down a little ;) I love the last photo, two rotties each resting its head on someone's foot, their favorite place to be.
