I introduced Stella (center) to much of the pack. Trooper (right) is checking her out, little Rocky is giving her a sniff, and that's Frank (front, left) who spent the night with her. |
L to R: Frank, Trooper, Rocky, Stella |
Frank is settling down and he now thinks I'm his best friend. I think (hope) that he'll be ok, but he will require someone with enough patience to earn his trust. |
Sparky and I did a good 90 minutes on the trails today. It was good for both of us and we both enjoyed it. Below are two small wildflowers. I don't know what either of them are called. |
Vince checking out a very sleepy Maya. |
Maya got spayed today. Here she is in the back of Clay's car when she got back home this evening. She didn't quite have full ear control back yet. |

The yellow flower is trout lily, so called because the leaves are spotted like the fish. It is a common spring wildflower in moist, sandy places (eg, streambanks). The white flower is bloodroot. The root looks like a miniature sweet potato and oozes a bright red liquid if cut. Hence the name. I love spring wildflowers!
