Felix

Felix is a former foster. We had him when he was still a puppy. He is still very excited every time he sees me, which I really enjoy. He stayed here barely more than 24 hours, but it was fun to have him back again.

He fit in well with everyone, even though some of the dogs were new to him. TJ was a butthead but Felix doesn't reciprocate bad behavior so it never escalated into something serious. Obi liked having a dog around who was closer to his own age. What I liked best was the Felix slept in bed with us last night.

He folded his legs up like Gigi did, to not take up much space.

We've had an empty spot between us at the foot of the bed since Gigi died. None of the other dogs have shown any inclination to claim the spot. The most obvious choice would be Maya, and she will jump into bed for snuggle time, but when it's time to sleep she likes to sleep undisturbed. I know Felix sleeps in bed at home, so I encouraged him to jump up and he finally did so. He settled down and stayed there all night.

His folks were back home Wednesday afternoon, but Maya and I took him out for a quick hike at Pleasant Grove before they arrived. It was hot, humid, and not very nice, but we went about two and a quarter miles and he had a good time.
