A great day for dog play

Zeus
Zeus has been hanging out with our household dogs since he arrived.  He's younger than any of them, though, and they haven't always been providing him with enough play.  Zeus is good indoors but he needs some outdoor time and some play.  He's good with all our dogs, but they were wanting to come in this afternoon and I wanted Zeus to stay out a while longer.  It was a beautiful afternoon.
Zeus and Barack.
Zeus does not throw his weight around,
he's no bully.  He is rather bouncy.
Zeus found a ball he really likes.
Thanks, Darlene.

So I brought our guys in but left Trooper out to supervise for a while.  Then I brought over Hercules, Barack, and finally Riley.  They are all young, playful, and generally good with others.  They were all fine with Zeus, he's really a good natured fellow.  I've yet to hear him say an unkind word or have a bad encounter with any other dog.  That's really remarkable, and it's been without any kind of proper introduction.

Barack in the rear.
Zeus heard something when he got indoors late this afternoon and let out a bark that shook the whole house.  It startled the other indoor dogs and they barked too, just in case it was something important (it wasn't).  He's got a very impressive bark, which you would expect from a 125 lb. rottie.  This was the first time I've heard him give an alert bark, which means he's settling in.  He also hopped up on the bed this evening, but a Great Dane in bed is enough, so I let him know that was not his spot.

It sounded as if Monday was to be our last warm day for a while, so I spent much of the afternoon outdoors, installing stock tank heaters in all the outdoor water sources, which involved emptying them and scrubbing them first, figuring this will be my last chance to do so until spring.  It was a great day for dog play.

Zeus looks good, but I think he could stand to
drop 10-15 pounds.  I'll get him weighed this week.
