Promoting Pan

Pan is an awesome dog. Far too good to be languishing around here, although he does seem to be enjoying himself. This post is all about Pan, to promote his adoption prospects. Feel free to share it widely.

We were told Pan is a lab mix about three years old and I have no reason to doubt it. He's still young and energetic, but he's past the obnoxious puppy stage of life. He's house trained. The former owner never  used a crate with him and I haven't either. I've left him home alone without any problems but he probably would crate if you need to.

Pan is great with other dogs and I was told he had been with a cat before too. He also lived with a child, but Pan is still rather jumpy, so he needs some training not to jump on people. He could knock down a small person or a child without really trying.

Pan weighed in at about 96 pounds at the vet. He needs to lose 20-30 of those pounds for a longer, healthier, more active life. He's on a green bean diet now and I've seen that take the weight off a dog pretty quickly, when combined with exercise. Pan is already neutered and we got him vaccinated. He tested negative for heartworms and fecal parasites.

Pan likes to walk and he's good on a leash and on the trail. He loves the water. Pan is a well-traveled dog; he's seen a lot of places and done a lot of things in his three short years. He needs a permanent home now and he will make an awesome companion. He will love your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your buddies, your parents, your kids. If this dog meets someone he doesn't like, I'd be very suspicious of that person.

Pan is available for adoption through Animal Connections. Click on the link and it will take you to the website where you can find the adoption application. An application and home visit will be required. Make sure your current pets are fully vetted before applying to adopt another one (including spay/neuter, current vaccines, and heartworm preventative).

You can contact Pan's foster home at vadogrescue@gmail.com if you have any questions. I want to find him the best possible home.
