Leo XX

We started our 20th year in rescue today with a new German Shepherd pup, about 8-9 months old, named Leo. This guy is less than a year old and has already been bounced around two or three times. His next home needs to be permanent.

The task of getting him settled in has fallen to Uncle Theo. There's wasn't much daylight left by the time I got him home, but I put the two of them out in Daneland to get acquainted. Theo just wanted to play fetch with me, Leo just wanted to play with Theo. At least he has some outdoor space to work off that puppy energy and that's what he's been needing. He'll come inside to a crate in my office tonight and back out to Daneland with Theo tomorrow.
He knows basic dog meeting manners.

He's really thin so I'll de-worm him. He has no verified vet history so I'll try to get him scheduled at least for vaccines and such for Friday. He's friendly, has lived with multiple children, and other dogs so I think his temperament is good, he just needs someone who has time to teach him how to be a dog in human society.

He's a pretty boy with a tail as long as his body. He seems to be a long coated shepherd, black/white and shades of gray. When he's grown up and filled out, I think he'll be very handsome. I'll get better pictures tomorrow. He's with Promises Animal Rescue.

He knows basic dog play manners too. Here
he is play bowing to Theo, inviting a chase.

Here you can see his coloring, his long coat, and that gorgeous tail.

He is scrawny right now, but has a good appetite.

Theo sits nicely for a treat, but he's actually
rather grabby. We don't do treats around here.
He's got a pretty good "sit" if you've got
a treat in hand, and he takes them nicely.
