New foster -- Kaiser

Kaiser came to us today as a new foster with Promises Animal Rescue. He's a recently neutered male German Shepherd Dog, about two years old. So far, so good. Debbie brought him down to me from a vet's office where he had been neutered and was being boarded.

We introduced him to Theo and Max outside in the dog yard and that went well. Theo let him know who was boss, but also showed that he was prepared to play. Max has no social skills but he was fine as long as he was carrying a stick. We had to get to town for dinner so Kaiser came inside to the crate in the kitchen. I had to shove his butt in there so he may not be accustomed to being crated, but he was still in the crate when we returned and seemed okay with the experience. He then met Maya in the small yard and has now met our duo of female Danes, Serena and Della, through the fence.

He's a great looking dog, not real big but well put together, with a pretty red and black coat and a white chest. He's certainly good with people and I'm told that he is good with kids and that he lived with a small dog. I'll post more information about Kaiser as I learn it, but my initial assessment is that he's a good one.
