Weekend with Felix

We had Felix this weekend. He came Friday morning and went back home late afternoon on Sunday. With Diesel arriving on Saturday it bumped our total to 11 for the weekend, but Felix is easy to have around, and he doesn't need a dog bed at night because he sleeps in our bed, more or less in Gigi's old spot.

Felix is a former foster who was adopted by friends and neighbors who went out of town for the weekend. It's always a pleasure to have him come to visit. He gets along with all of our regular crew, and even knows how to deal with Max. He had a few new dogs to meet this time but he was fine with all of them.

I took him for a walk with Maya on Saturday, and he had a good run in the pasture on Sunday. Here are some pictures from the weekend with Felix.
That's Serena on the left, standing on the floor next to me.
Maya is on the bed but Felix is closest to me.

Maya's only problem is that he was closer to me than she was.

Maya has a fix for that problem, she just pushes in closer.

Maya and Felix walk nicely together, or Maya
walks nicely and Felix jumps around.

Felix has a shiny black coat and a very good alert look.

He likes to snuggle close so he's a bit of a bed hog, but
he will get up and re-position himself if you insist.
Felix (right) and Diesel (left) out in the pasture.

Diesel may be fat, but he will run.

Felix is much faster, but Diesel tried to keep up for a while.

Sparky went out to the pasture with us too. He likes a short
romp and lasted about as long as Diesel.

Diesel stuck close to me and when he was tired just laid
down by my feet.

This is Felix in front, bounding past Sparky.

Diesel is proving to be an easy foster, just as I
expected he would be when we met.

Clyde meeting Felix

Felix knew that the best thing to do with Clyde was to run.

Felix leading the pack, followed by Max, Clyde, and Serena. The following pictures were taken
in succession as they ran across my field of view in the pasture.

The air was cool but the sun makes it nice.

The sky is blue and the trees are changing colors.

This is the best time of year in Virginia.

Theo missed today's romp (against his will) because he's nursing a left rear leg that he hurt the last
time he was out playing ball in the pasture. He is getting older and we may have to go to shorter
throws. I hope it will heal completely because he won't be happy if he can't play ball.
