Colin and Coco go to an outing, Beau goes home

Colin and Coco and I went to a Promises Animal Rescue adoption event in northern VA today. Long drive, but lots of activity and interest in these two. I came home with both of them, as I had pretty much planned to do, but we met a number of interested potential adopters. Applications are still coming in for Colin so there's a lot to sift through and evaluate.

Mostly the two of them had a lot of fun. Coco likes to play with anything and everything and she did her best with all the other dogs. Colin did too, and he worked the crowd like a preacher fleecing his flock, winning over friends, influencing people, and getting treats wherever possible. He actually learned "sit" today and after he realized that it got him treats he offered up the behavior without even being asked.

Coco isn't really ready for adoption yet, still being heartworm positive and unspayed, but someone was interested in her as well and everyone thought she was very cute, which she is.

Coco was the most playful dog there.
She is probably going to be the most
playful dog wherever she is.
Coco is actually sitting on my lap here.

This is Bella, a former foster of ours
who came to visit today.
In addition to her striking blue eyes, Bella has
a black saddle on her back with a sable streak
running down the center of it, and silky soft fur.

This is Colin's most grown up shepherd look.

We were only there about two hours, but it was a very busy two hours. Lots of people, lots of talk, lots of play. The dogs crashed in their crates and slept all the way home, but Coco and Maya are playing like crazy behind me as I'm working on this.

While Colin and Coco both took steps towards adoption today, it was Beau who actually crossed over from foster to adopted dog. A couple had come to meet him Saturday morning, but they had a family event to go to for the rest of the day. But they came back Sunday evening to formally adopt Beau and take him home.
