Cooper

Cooper is a 2-3 year old golden retriever. (This is not the same golden that appeared on this blog a few weeks ago.) Cooper is a nice dog. He has been bought and sold on craigslist or something similar 2 or 3 times in his short life. His last owner had him for less than 24 hours but at least this one made sure that Cooper got an appropriate placement (with Green Dogs Unleashed). What he hasn't had is any consistency in his life, or anyone willing to put a little time and effort into making him as well behaved as he is handsome.
When he didn't even try to eat Catdog I knew there was
nothing wrong with this dog's temperament.

I've had him just a few hours, but he has met about half the pack and is currently hanging out with Coco. Tomorrow I plan to hook him up with Clyde and let them work off their energy on each other. He starts being crated tonight. He gets neutered on Monday. Those two things will go a long ways towards solving the house training issue. The harness he's wearing would be great for a sled dog, or for a dog who has already learned to walk without pulling. We'll use different equipment and teach him how to walk. This isn't rocket science, it just takes a little common sense and some effort.

I introduced one at a time but pretty quickly.
Here's Serena, Maya, and Coco checking him out.
TJ isn't the most welcoming to new, intact, male
dogs, but he was all right and I'll keep them apart
as much as possible until Cooper is neutered.

OMG. Too much with Cooper. I bet you will have to choose from many to take this one.
