A run in between rains

Della woke us up about 4:30 a.m. this morning. I elbowed either her or Serena and they left me alone, but then they began to play with each other. That's the end of anybody sleeping. Then Simon and Maya both jumped into bed so I just got up. They haven't had enough outdoor time lately so I was determined to get them out for at least a run in the pasture this afternoon.
Della and Simon on the run.

It threatened to rain more today than it actually did rain, so we found a window in the afternoon to get out. It was Max, Theo, Della, Serena, and the boxer, Simon. It was Simon's first time in the pasture and the loved it. He can really run fast and he loves to do so. Della was the only one really interested in running with him, but the two of them had a great time. Theo played ball. Serena walked around with her nose to the ground most of the time looking for things she could eat. Max was like Big Foot, seldom seen except in blurry pictures.

Wednesday evening we took Simon with us when we went to town for dinner with Clay's mother. He was so quiet in the crate in the van I almost forgot he was there. When we arrived he met the cat with no problem but was later scared of her when she hissed at him. He relaxed and sat quietly with us near the dinner table without making a pest of himself. He was good with Clay's mom and took treats from her very gently.

She is just stunning.
Simon would run after the ball, but Theo always got it.

Serena had the ball in the beginning but she doesn't
play fetch, she just tosses it around by herself.
