Buster is an 8 year old brindle boxer. Jackson is a 2.5 year old Great Dane. Both are neutered males, up to date on everything, house trained, and good with other dogs. They were given up because their owner will be moving to an assisted living facility. Green Dogs took them in, and we are fostering.

They are both nice boys, but are a bit freaked out by the sudden change. It's unfortunate that they can't understand, but fortunately they are dogs and dogs adjust pretty well in most cases. I have no doubt that these boys will be fine in a few days. They met most everyone around here today with absolutely no problem. They've always lived indoors and have never even been crated. Apparently they slept in the owner's bed. These are well cared for and well loved dogs, not neglect cases.
I did try taking them out to Daneland with meet Kismet. She was happy to have the company and really wanted to play with Jackson. Maybe after he settles in, but he wasn't ready to play today. I then took Journey and Maya out to Daneland with Kismet while I was working around the back yard. They didn't play, but again, Kismet was happy to have company. I put a long line on Journey in case he looked for, found, or made a way out, but he didn't even show any inclination to escape. I was very happy about that, but I still can't trust him as far as I can throw him, and believe me, that isn't very far. I hope this means that he is homed here and wants to stick around. He played with Maya again indoors this morning. I really hope he will try to engage Kismet in play. She really needs a playmate and I don't think Maya would mind passing him off to a younger dog.
