Twelve dogs, three pups

Sweet Serena
I'm not quite sure how this happened, but the numbers have been creeping up around here. We are currently at 12 dogs, plus the three puppies. Our resident dogs are six: Theo, Max, Arby, Maya, Della, and Serena. We are up to six foster dogs now too: the shepherd parents: Luna and Bruno; the two new ones, Buster and Jackson; and then Kismet and Journey. Clay counts the puppies individually too, but I just consider the three of them as one more dog, for a total of 13.

It's a good group of dogs, but the feeding routine takes longer than usual, and there's just more dogs around to make sure they are getting in and out when they need to, etc. Here are some random pics from today that I think include everyone.

Jackson, the new Dane.

Della was outside with me most of the day but
she needed an indoor nap in the afternoon.

Puppy

Long pants are a good idea around the pups because their
nails are as sharp as needles.

Luna is about done nursing the pups.
Two pups are nursing and Luna is using one as a pillow.

Bruno and Maya

Theo came in for naptime this afternoon too.

Arby is generally underfoot in the kitchen.

Journey

Journey has now spent two full days in Daneland with
Kismet. We bring him in at night, but he has made no
attempt to escape.

Journey and Kismet play and hang out
together during the day. It's good for both.

I hope you can find Buster and Jackson a home together.
