Lexie hits the town

We took Lexie to her first brewery this afternoon, and then she met a cat. To cut to the chase, I'll just say that she was great with the cat.

We usually get together with Clay's mother for dinner Sunday evening. Today was no exception but we stopped at Reason Beer for a quick one before picking up dinner. They have a Flanders red ale called Wood Song that is just heavenly. It's made with a blend of Belgian wild yeasts and aged in French oak barrels for 11 months. Really nice.

We took Lexie along for her first brewery outing. There wasn't much crowd there on a muggy late Sunday afternoon, but Lexie enjoyed herself and explored as best she could being on leash.

Then we went to Berta's house and met her and her cat, Portia. The cat showed no fear of Lexie and Lexie showed no aggression toward the cat. Her tail was up, excited and happy, but they were nose to nose with no problem. I later dropped the leash and let Lexie explore on her own. She ate some of the cat's food, but not the cat. A very successful meeting.

Berta's friend Mary came over to meet Lexie as well. Lexie rolled over for her and the two were instant friends. We left Lexie on her own while we ate dinner. After she had finished exploring the house, she came back to us and laid down in the dining room while we ate.

Everything confirms that I've thought about Lexie, she's wonderful with people, and now I can add that she's good with cats.
