Maze and Bette both went back to their homes Saturday morning. I think they enjoyed their time here but they were very happy to see their people once again. Their departure dropped our canine head count to seven, plus the three remaining puppies, so call it eight.
I spent much of the day baking cookies but took the puppies out to the dog yard for some play time and then to the pasture for a run. Paisley joined us at first because I had left the gate open from the yard to the pasture, but she is scared of the puppies and mostly runs away from them. Then I brought Cheese out to the pasture with them and they all enjoyed that. The puppies are three months old now. Cheese is probably six months. Cheese is young enough that he's still pretty annoying to the adult dogs around here, but he's been learning and growing and is now pretty well accepted, or at least tolerated. He's still young enough that he understands and enjoys the younger pups play style, but to them he's a big, grown up dog, and an object of fascination.
There was lots of running and wrestling. Cheese found himself on the other side of the matchups today, playing the big dog for a change and he enjoyed it.
The pictures look fuzzy today but I kept wiping the lens on the camera. I think it was just atmospheric conditions.
