End of the long weekend

Four day weekends are nice. Really nice. After I retire I probably won't really appreciate holidays because the actual holiday itself doesn't really mean anything to me, the time off from work is what makes it an occasion. I stayed at home today because the folks who brought me dogs on Friday were coming to pick them up today.

The first pick up was Marvel going to her new home. The adopters were happy, Marvel was happy, and they already sent pictures showing a very happy dog in her new home. She's an only dog in her new home and that will suit her fine. She likes and needs to be the center of attention and can easily soak up the love and admiration of everyone in the room without competition. She was a wonderful mother, and a really great dog, I wish her a long life of health and happiness.

Maddie and Quinnie went home too. They were very happy to see their mom and needed no encouragement to hop into the car.

Thor was the last to get picked up today. He still has no idea what's going on, but his new family missed him and was very happy to have him back.

Before anyone went home today, we had a special visit from Cheryl Falkenburry who came for some puppy therapy and left with chewed up fingers and empty pockets that had been filled with treats. She had the puppies learning "sit" and literally had them eating out of her hands.

Most everyone got out for some pasture time too. Bear killed a field mouse and brought it to me to see. I was duly impressed but scooped it up for disposal. I didn't see it happen but everyone else was quite excited by it and had a good time hunting for more.

Tails up in hunting mode.

Paisley is not a hunter. She just followed me around.

Bear and Bailey

I think Bailey's attention span is a bit too short to be an effective hunter.

Bear will have an adjustment being with Marvel.

Norman was indoors most of the day but he does enjoy getting out to run with the others.
