The Allison clan

Three years ago today, late at night, a very pregnant Great Dane arrived here. We eventually named her Allison. Her former home had had an outbreak of parvo and her puppies who were due any minute would certainly have died of the disease. We settled her into the puppy shed in Daneland and I slept out there with her. Here's the blog post I wrote about her the next day: Della's home for wayward mothers

Allison delivered her puppies on September 18th, Clay's birthday. She had 14 puppies, 10 were born live, while four were not. Here is my blog post about their birthing day:  Birthdays.

The litter consisted of nine females and one male. We chose them all fitting names as described here:  Girl power

Then we were off on another 10-12 week odyssey of puppy rearing, with a lot of help from a lot of people: Thank you

We aren't in touch with as much of the pups from this litter as we are of Della's, but we still get to see Elliott pretty often and I see posts about Dolly on Facebook. It was another amazing fostering experience, both heart warming and heart breaking, and I would do it a thousand times again.
