New York bound

We are leaving very early Wednesday morning for five days in NYC.  A housesitter will stay here with our dogs and a couple of the fosters.  Today I transported five dogs to boarding facilities so the housesitter doesn't have quite so much to handle.  Thankfully the extreme heat seems to have broken and the dogs who are boarding are mostly accustomed to outdoor living.  My only real concern is Vince because he's so scared of storms, but I sent along a bottle of valium for him.

It is tough to get away and it seems that I've been preparing for trips a lot this  year.  There was New Orleans, then Kansas, DC, and now New York, and our trip to England will be coming up in the fall.  That's more than I usually travel.  It doesn't matter if the trip is two days or two weeks, the amount of preparation is the same.  Mostly it's coming together, but the grass may not all get mowed because it has been too hot and now we've had some much needed rain.  In the great scheme of things, or even in the small scheme of this trip, uncut grass really doesn't matter, so screw it.

These beautiful shepherd pictures are of a former foster named Tomas, now called Gibson.  Great pictures of a beautiful and very happy dog.

Have a great trip and a more than well deserved break! The grass and the chores are always there. No need to stress about those things.
Enjoy!
