Journey, etc.

First and foremost, Journey is in a new home tonight. The folks we went to meet last weekend called the next day and said they wanted him. They drove here early this morning and took him home. I'm thrilled beyond my ability to express it. I really doubted that we'd ever find the right home for this dog and I was afraid that he'd be in a less than ideal home (ours) for the rest of his life. I now have hope that he will have a great home of his own with people he will learn to love and trust.

That was at 9:00 a.m. this morning. At 10:00 a.m. a couple came with their own Great Dane to meet Winston and Chase. Actually their Great Dane is one of our former fosters, Moo, now called Tucker. Both boys ran and played with Tucker in the pasture.

Meanwhile, in the house, Dasher is getting acquainted and making himself at home. He's learned that Arby is not interested in playing with him. Della hasn't yet decided what she thinks about him. Dasher  decided to make himself a lap dog, on Clay's lap.

At noon I went over to Green Dogs to bring home another foster, because Journey's spot had been vacant for almost three hours. Her name is Malia and she's a one year old Rottweiler. She's a beauty and she seems very sweet. I introduced her to Kismet who wanted to play with her immediately. She has since met the rest of the gang and seems fine with everyone. She's crated in the kitchen near Kismet tonight and seems to be doing well.

Kismet needed to give her a time and space to get adjusted. They were soon running and
playing together in Daneland along with Buzz.

About 1:00 p.m. a couple from northern Virginia arrived to meet Buzz Lightyear. They brought along their dog, a 12 year of Bernese Mountain Dog mix. They liked him, which isn't surprising as he's a very likeable fellow. The two dogs seemed to hit it off as well, in spite of the age difference. They ran and played for a while out in the pasture and I'm sure the older dog had a good solid nap on the drive home. They decided to adopt and we are working out a time later this week to make that happen after Buzz gets neutered on Wednesday.

It was a good day, especially for Journey and Buzz. I'm exhausted and am going to bed early. I have to get Chase to the vet for his neuter appointment tomorrow morning.

I am so happy for Journey. I wish him the best. You showed him such kindness during his time with you, Brent.
