New Danes

They are both females, a two year old fawnequin we are calling Dolly, and a six year old harlequin, Madison.

I don't know much about the back story, they were two of four owned by a young woman who had split from a bad relationship and didn't have the time, money, or place to keep them. The other two went to family members apparently. We may get them sometime in the future, who knows. But two was enough for today and it's what we got so that's what we deal with. They seem to be very nice dogs.

The fawnequin is two years old. Dolly is very gentle, very sweet, a bit shy, and perhaps a bit shell-shocked. She's got a lot of sores, raw spots, scars, and calluses on her as well as a cut on her right front leg. Apparently one of the other dogs she was with chewed on her a lot.

The harlequin, Madison, was used for breeding. She's a nice girl too, very thick and sturdy, and we were told that she's a bit hard headed. She's not shy, seems full of confidence. At six years old she's seen a lot more of life, both good and bad, I suspect.

She readily offers up her paw.

If you stop holding one paw, she then offers the other one.

She needs some soft bedding and time to heal.

Madison is much more confident. She's also strong and pulls hard on a leash.
She also enjoys being touched and does the classic Dane lean.

In the back of my van ready to make the trip home.

Dolly has one blue eye and one brown eye.

Madison has a blue bunny that she likes to carry around.

She doesn't trust me enough yet, but I really want to give her a hug.
