Turtle gets adopted, KitKat finds a foster

I'm ending the weekend with two less pups. An approved applicant came out Saturday and went home with Turtle. He's very affectionate and outgoing, so that came as no surprise. It's a good home and an adopter who is committed to working with the dog so I am very hopeful for a successful outcome.

Someone who was planning to take Turtle on as a foster came out Sunday and learned that he had been adopted. Undeterred, she spent some time with the pups and ended up taking KitKat home to foster instead. KitKat has made great progress lately, coming to me when I go out there and coming up for petting like the others. He's the one who buried his head under the elevated beds for at least the first week that they were here. Twizzler and KitKat were the last two to come around, but KitKat was the one who was most in need of a foster home at this point so I'm very happy for him.

Turtle's adopter sent pics the first night and he was doing fine. KitKat was initially very shut down in his new foster home, but after some decompression time in a crate he was finally following his new foster mom around the kitchen.

These guys just need a chance. They are all basically sweet dogs; they just need to find some humans worthy of their trust.

When visitors first arrived both Twizzler and KitKat held back until daddy Twix
came over, met the person, and showed them that it was safe.

Twizzler has been coming around a little bit ahead of KitKat.

Once KitKat came over he sat, took treats, and was very friendly.

Pixie is very friendly and I understand has a number of applicants.
Unfortunately, her spay date isn't for a week or two  yet.

KitKat was not happy about leaving and had to be carried to the car.

This is the classic Turtle pose, in his new home after just a few hours.

And this is KitKat in his new foster home after some crate time.
